Bart van Melik
Bart van Melik has been teaching meditation in the New York City area since 2009 and teaching retreats around the world. He works with diverse audiences such as war veterans, youth in homeless shelters, and teens in NYC public schools.
Bart was trained by Joseph Goldstein and Carol Wilson who introduced him to the power of a relaxed consciousness that allows us to meet life kindly - especially in difficult times.
From Gregory Kramer he learned Insight Dialogue – a relational meditation practice. And from his wife Chantal and son Lou he continues to learn about unconditional love, patience and play.
He is co-author of Still, in the City: Creating Peace of Mind in the Midst of Urban Chaos. His meditation instructions can be heard on the Meditation Studio app and on Dharma Seed.
Bart has lived in New York City since 2008. He is a Spirit Rock/IMS Teacher Training graduate. He studied cultural and religious psychology at the University of Nijmegen.
