Come to peace, come to be
Dingeman Boat
49 life lessons
Publisher: Asoka
Dingeman Boot (1934) grew up in an Orthodox Christian family and knew from an early age that he wanted to become a pastor. But he got stuck during his theology studies. He ended up in a mental institution where he discovered that he had to forge new paths. Yoga and the Hindu philosophical school of advaita vedanta helped him do this, as did the Buddhist vipassana or insight meditation. Meditating did him so much that he spent a period as a Buddhist monk in Asia.
After his early retirement, he focused on giving courses and retreats in the yoga meditation that he developed himself. At the beginning of this century, he discovered the Tibetan Buddhist dzogchen, which he considers a continuation of Vipassana. In this book he takes the reader on his spiritual journey, in seven stages and on the basis of 49 life lessons.
