Frits Koster has been practicing vipassana meditation since 1979 and lived from 1982-1988 as a monk in monasteries in Southeast Asia, where he meditated and studied Buddhist psychology. He has many years of experience as a retreat supervisor. He is also a certified mindfulness trainer and is a teacher at various training institutes to become a mindfulness trainer in the Netherlands and other European countries and is trained as a trainer in Interpersonal Mindfulness and Mindfulness-Based Supervision. Of Erik van den Brink Frits has developed the training Mindfulness-Based Compassionate Living (MBCL). They have published Compassionate living (Boom, 2016) and the help book Compassion in your life (Boom, 2019) about this.
Jetty Heynekamp has worked as a physiotherapist, has practiced insight meditation since 1982 and has extensive experience in working with people with physical limitations. She is a certified mindfulness and compassion trainer. In addition, Jetty also provides mindful exercise and posture advice during retreats in addition to the practical organization. Frits and Jetty manage the Mildness & Mindfulness Training Office, from where they guide meditation retreats in the Netherlands and abroad. Together they have (co)authored the following publications: the audio book Mildheid (Asoka, 2011), Four life friends (together with Erik van den Brink, Asoka, 2013), Handhold for each other with Nadine Kohle, Stans Drossaert and Ernst Bohlmeijer, Lannoo, 2020) and The art of mindful communication (Boom, 2020).
