Joost has been practicing vipassana or insight meditation since 1995. He meditated in Burma and Nepal for almost three years and since 2004 he has been guiding retreats and other meditation activities. As a teacher of Buddhist philosophy and vipassana, he is affiliated with the Dhamma in-depth course and various mindfulness training institutes. The motivation for teaching comes from confidence in the beneficial effects of meditation, both for the practitioner and for society.
Besides being co-founder of 30NOW he is the author of 'Back to the Market', a book about applying Buddhism in everyday life.
