Bhikkhu Analayo invites you: Consciously dealing with climate change

,

We are pleased to announce a new in-depth series: 'Consciously Dealing with Climate Change' by Bhikkhu Anālayo. This series offers inspiring tools in the form of guided meditations, video lectures and texts that support a conscious and balanced approach to the climate crisis. What makes this series extra special: it is offered completely free of charge, based on a voluntary donation to Bhikkhu Anālayo.

In addition, we would like to draw your attention to the upcoming dialogue on Zen with Ciska Matthes and Han van den Boogaard, which will take place on Sunday evening, June 1. And not to forget: the most creative workshop ever at 30NOW: Writing haikus with Maarten Olthof.

Sincerely,

Dealing consciously with climate change – In-depth series with Bhikkhu Analayo

Climate change affects us not only ecologically and socially, but also on a personal level. Feelings of fear, guilt or helplessness can arise. In this in-depth series, Bhikkhu Anālayo offers tools to deal with these emotions from a Buddhist perspective. Through four themes, each supported by a video lecture, guided meditation and book excerpts, you will learn how mindfulness and compassion can contribute to inner balance and conscious action.

Through four themes:

🌏 Relationship to the Earth

Explore how to connect with the earth and nature, and develop a mind that is as spacious and stable as the earth itself.

🧠 Ethics of the mind

Explore how your thoughts and intentions can contribute to the well-being of the planet, and develop an ethical attitude based on compassion and wisdom.

🕊️ Liberation of the mind

Learn how to find inner freedom amid the challenges of climate change by cultivating compassion and letting go of attachment.

🛤️ Walking the path
Discover how to integrate these insights into your daily life and walk a path that leads to personal and collective transformation.

The series is flexible to follow and freely accessible to everyone. The English version of the accompanying book can be downloaded for free as a PDF, and the Dutch edition is available via Milinda Uitgevers.

This spring, 'The Spark and the Flame – Zen Through the Ages', the new book by Han van den Boogaard, was published.

In this work he describes the lives and inspiration of five people who – each in their own way – have expressed the essence of Zen:

  • Zen master Dogen
  • The poet Bashō
  • Hermit and poet Ryōkan
  • The writer RH Blyth
  • Sumi-e mistress Marjon de Jong

📖 The book shows that Zen is not a theory, but a lived art of attention, simplicity and connection.

🎙️ Ciska Hosen Matthes will be talking to Han van den Boogaard this evening – psychologist, writer and translator.

Together they explore:

  • How did this book come into being?
  • What are the similarities with our own lives?
  • What can these lives teach us?
