Starting December 19th, we will be focusing on the seven factors of awakening for nine months with the new Dhamma Study Group Live Course. This and more in this newsletter of November 19.

Dhamma Study Group - 'The Seven Factors of Awakening'

There are nine monthly online live sessions with all participants. All sessions are supervised by Bianca Vermeij and Helena Pauptit. The meeting starts with an introduction to the theme of the month, which is given each time by a different speaker.

The speakers who will give the introductions are: Riët Aarsse, Arjan Schrier, Helena Pauptit, Frits Koster, Bianca Vermeij, sister Vimalanani, sr Dhammadinnā, Simin Abhravesh and Joost van den Heuvel Rijnders.

In addition, we study the suttas (readings of the Buddha) and other texts, pieces from Buddhist psychology, we follow guided meditations, do exercises and listen to dhammatalks.

In this way, the seven factors of awakening can be given more space in our lives, and they help us on the way to a free mind and a free heart.

From December 19, the texts and meditations on the first theme will appear. The first live session is on January 23.

Op Locatie

With the annual evaluation, many participants indicated that they wanted to follow the upcoming offline meetings (on location) of the supervisors. You can think of retreats, meditation evenings and courses.
That's why we are Op Locatie expanding with more facilitators actively sharing their “offline” meetings.
Suggestions improvements are welcome. Do you have a question about a meeting? Please contact the relevant supervisor.

Podcast

In addition to the recent episode about Adhitthana, you can listen to the new and last episode from the podcast series 'Dhamma in daily life' starting tomorrow. Mirjam and Ank then discuss Metta, or friendly and benevolent.

By the way, you can listen back to all 11 episodes where and when it suits you.

live tip

Sunday morning (10.00 am) there is a new Live Meditation by Karin Rekvelt. In addition, tomorrow evening (20.00 p.m.) you can join Phap Xa's Live Lecture about Rest and clarity.

We can become aware that, especially in difficult times, we can contribute a lot with our peace and clarity. It is important that a captain remains calm in a storm at high seas and can react with clarity. Difficult situations can bring up painful feelings in us and if we know how to take care of them with peace and clarity, it gives us a lot of confidence in ourselves. With peace and clarity we recognize the nourishment sources of our suffering and we can find a way out of difficult situations.

We would also like to point out next week's special interactive Live Lecture with Dick Verstegen and Misha Beliën: Zenmonnikschap anno nu. More information about the planned live sessions (with current participation link) can be found at 30NOW.nl/live
