We're joining 30NOW expanding our offer with online retreats.

We have chosen to offer Live Retreats in addition to the Live Courses to provide participants with a deeper and more intensive experience of meditation. In addition, we notice that people have become familiar with online retreats due to the pandemic. It offers participants the opportunity to participate from home and meditate with people from all over the world. In addition, it may be possible to meet with others at a location, for example a holiday home, and connect online. If you like 30NOW lid would like to follow a retreat with others at a different location than at home, it is a tip to check the Sangha Inbox (https://www.30now.nl/leden/#sanghainbox). Post a call - or respond to calls from other members - to get together at a location and follow the online guidance.

We are extremely pleased – and also a little proud – that internationally renowned teacher Bhikkhu Analyo is our first online retreat will take care of. Bhikkhu Anālayo is a monk, scientist, meditation teacher and author of 'Satipatthana – the direct path to liberation', among others. During this retreat he is supported by Bhikkhunī Dhammadinnā and Helena Pauptit.

For the first time, Bhikkhu Anālayo offers a satipaṭṭhāna retreat for Dutch and Flemish speaking practitioners!

Bhikkhu Analayo

Each day during this retreat, a different part of the four branches of mindfulness will be highlighted. This way you can explore the different topics in your own meditation practice and deepen your understanding of them. In addition, the different parts of satipaṭṭhāna meditation are brought together, allowing you to experience this practice as a whole.

The online retreat environment is offered by us in collaboration with Helena Pauptit and Agama Research Group.

Dana sands

'The practice of dana can be abrasive,' says American meditation teacher Sharon Salzberg. Dana is an exercise in giving freely. Bee 30NOW in this way you support the presence and dedication of the teachers who provide the daily live meditations and lectures. 30NOW only facilitates the teachers with technical support, they do not receive a fixed fee for their contribution. Your financial gift is an expression of appreciation for the lessons received and contributes to the continuity of the offer.

dana's practice can chafe. Perhaps we are no longer trusted and you wonder: how much should I give? Perhaps impatience or irritation arises when the teacher brings Dana to attention at the end of the guided meditation and shares a link on the chat. Is that perceived as intrusive?

Perhaps you prefer to transfer a fixed amount every month. Then it is clear, unambiguous and you don't have to think about it or take action after following a meditation.

It can also chafe on the receiving end. For example, we saw that after a lecture with more than 80 participants, three people donated something. The thought came to mind: “this is very little.”

We sometimes wonder “internally” whether this system is suitable for our greatest asset: our teachers. Teachers sometimes find it difficult to find the right words to draw attention to dana. Preferably as short as possible, without being pushy.

Can it sand? Can you do that take in your practice of mindfulness? Can you be aware from which intention – or not – is being given.
