#11
This is not mine
This time Joost is sitting at the kitchen table with Bart van Melik. Bart would normally be in New York right now, teaching meditation to war veterans, youth in homeless shelters, and teens in public schools. Bart was trained by Joseph Goldstein, Carol Wilson and Gregory Kramer (for Insight Dialogue) – a relational meditation practice.
In this episode Joost and Bart take you through the origins of the online 6-week course 'A life focused on awakening'. The chorus of the Satipatthana Sutta is the inspiration of the course. Here the Buddha teaches the active and focused application of mindfulness in seeing change and selflessness.
Bart and Joost -both fathers and a rich social life- share their experiences with applying mindfulness in interpersonal contact. This also involves the valuable reflection 'This is not mine', a component that is practiced weekly within the course.
Curious when both have completely lost the exercise themselves? Listen to #11 This is not mine.
