Tony:
Followed several retreats, first through Itip training. Later the first in Waldbrol at EIAB in tradition Thich Nhat Hahn. Very impressed with all the new experiences. Back home there was a need to stay in the daily schedule, which was not possible due to work. I found sharing experiences difficult, especially putting them into words. Eventually came out in bits and pieces. Retreats after were different, gave myself more space to process and feel good about what I wanted to share or not (yet).
Loved hearing how different everyone's experience is.
Thank you for this beautiful online course! I notice that I find it especially difficult to control myself after the retreat in the stimuli to which I am exposed. Especially the telephone continues to draw, even though I have almost all notifications / pings turned off, but also television and radio. And it feels a bit alone again, alone on my pillow, without a group of people meditating around me, and without guides who always invite me to gentleness and mindfulness. I do attend an Insight Dialogue sangha, but that is only once every two weeks.
I found Bart van Melik's insight about how the period after the retreat is a good time to notice behavioral patterns, and that it is therefore positive to encounter them, very valuable and helpful.
