June 1 - June 28
Shamatha meditation
How do we keep the focus?
Karin Recvelt
In the Shamatha meditation course we train the mind in three core qualities: relaxation, stability and clarity. Shamatha means being relaxed with a clear and stable mind. On the basis of four basic meditations we learn to relax the body and calm the mobile mind.
This course is intended for anyone interested in meditation.
The course lasts four weeks. On June 1, you have access to the first week, which consists of a preface, a lecture, a meditation, explanation of the meditation, a sutta and an explanation of the home practice. The meditation, reflection and sutta can be heard in audio format. The lecture and the explanation of home practice are videos. Each section also contains written explanations, so you can read it again at your leisure.
The first live session via Zoom will be on June 7 from 20.00:21.00 PM to 21.30:2 PM, with an extension to 14:21 PM. In the live sessions, experiences are exchanged, substantive points are discussed and practised. Exchange in small groups is possible via break-out rooms. Access to week 28 will follow on Wednesday. The next live sessions will be on June XNUMX and XNUMX with access to the following week on Wednesday. The last live session is on June XNUMX.
