Mindfulness and the four Life Friends
Meet Kindness, Compassion, Fellowship, and Equanimity

In this 4-part Live Course, we explore four relational qualities that allow us to relate to ourselves and others in a wise, generous way – kindness, compassion/compassion, fellow joy, and equanimity.
These four beneficial companions or life friends, also called the four "heavenly abodes" in Buddhism, can be developed without limit to ourselves and to all other people and animals and help us find happiness, inner peace, joy and balance. .
A lecture is published on Tuesdays that you can view during the week at a time of your choosing. On Monday evenings there is a live session from 19:30 – 21:00 in which we meditate, exchange and explore the themes together.
We explore the four life friends from Buddhism, from research and from contemporary positive psychology. Frits sheds light on the connection between the four life friends and the value of the practice of mindfulness – as a basis for being able to listen inwardly and attune to which life friend fits best at the moment.
The Live Course 'Mindfulness and the Four Friends of Life' can contribute to a life with more connection – with yourself and with others.
Suitable for anyone already familiar with the practice of mindfulness.

On each theme page you will find a pre-recorded lecture, supporting texts, in-depth quotes and the opportunity to respond with a question or share your experience.

These Zoom sessions are well secured and are only accessible to you as course participants.
This is what you can expect
lectures
Four lectures – recorded in high image quality – of approximately 45 minutes per lecture – looking back at a self-chosen time. The four life friends are treated one by one, in conjunction with each other and the practice of mindfulness.

Live sessions
4 Monday evenings between 19.30 and 21.00 a live gathering via Zoom with all participants in which the life friends are further explored, in theory and interpersonally (via breakout rooms).
Breakout rooms are digital subgroups with which you temporarily break into small groups of 2-4 participants and are invited to explore a specific question through interpersonal mindfulness practice. At the end of this exploration, there is the opportunity to share experiences in plenary.Order date:
